Founded in 2013 under Palash Mahmud's leadership, the Conscious Consumers Society (CCS) is today one of Bangladesh's foremost and most active consumer rights organisations. As founder and Executive Director, he sets the organisation's overall policy, plans its programmes, drives its expansion, and leads the consumer rights movement at the national level.

CCS currently runs consumer-awareness activities across 61 districts and 335 police stations and in nearly 89 educational institutions. Around 200,000 young volunteers are the lifeblood of this movement. The organisation works in coordination with the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate (DNCRP) to carry out awareness, training and monitoring activities nationwide.

In 12 years since its founding, CCS has completed more than 200 conferences, workshops and campaigns. To protect consumer interests it has filed several writ petitions in the High Court and contributed to initiatives on food safety, fair pricing and the fight against adulteration. It also continues volunteer training, laboratory testing of products, research, and carrying the consumer's voice to the policy-making level.
